Advisory Council

The Allegheny Valley Institute of Technology� utilizes the expertise and knowledge of individuals who will eventually employ our students to give us advice and guidance. An advisory council comprised of individuals from education and industry is working toward the improvement and continued growth of our school.  Included on this council is faculty as well as other respected colleagues from our local educational and business communities.

Allegheny Valley Institute of Technology�
is a private licensed school in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Our institute provides computer related technology programs to business, education and residential markets. We are an independent training center, which focuses on offering short term programs related to current computer hardware and software technologies. 

The School occupies a three-story building located in Leechburg. Leechburg is 60 minutes northeast of Pittsburgh and is very accessible to most of Western Pennsylvania�s Interstate highways.

The mission of
Allegheny Valley Institute of Technology� is workforce development. The Allegheny Valley Institute of Technology� Campus provides relevant technical and academic education needed to assist individuals in making informed and meaningful occupational choices. Its purpose is to train, retrain, cross-train, and continually upgrade the state�s workforce to the end that individuals are employable at both entry and advanced levels. Its focus is employer friendly and economy driven to enhance personal development, increase economic opportunity, and contribute to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

The school employs, as adjunct (part-time) faculty members, persons who possess a college degree or certified academic credentials and who demonstrate the teaching skills required for full-time faculty members. The school provides opportunities for adjunct instructors to develop further as teachers and encourages their participation in appropriate departmental activities and the campus community.

The Allegheny Valley Institute of Technology main campus is located at One Kiski Avenue, Leechburg, PA 15656.

Located in the northern section of Westmoreland County, the Allegheny Valley Institute of Technology� is centrally located to serve the residents and businesses of Allegheny, Armstrong, Butler, Indiana, and Westmoreland Counties. The main access road to our location is Route 28, which services Pittsburgh. Because the Allegheny Valley Institute of Technology�is located near the cross roads of Route 28 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike, our location is a virtual gateway between local counties and other regions within the state. Being very accessible and convenient to our local markets are the primary reasons why the Allegheny Valley Institute of Technology� will continue to be based in the Alle-Kiski Valley.

Allegheny Valley Institute of Technology� prides itself on the attractiveness of its physical environment, providing well-maintained, accessible buildings as well as free and convenient parking for all of our students. The goal is to have facilities that are proportionate to enrollment and adequately support the requirements of each program.
