Microsoft Computer Systems Technology (MCSE)
Program Objective This program is designed to provide the student with the entry level skills required to successfully design, implement, manage and troubleshoot system environments running on the Windows 7 or 2008 operating systems. These skills are the minimum the student will need for a career as an entry level Microsoft Windows 7 and Server 2008 Support Technician, Microsoft Network Support Assistant, Microsoft Windows 2008 Deployment Technician, Microsoft WAN/LAN Technician, Microsoft Systems Trainer and Help Desk Support Professional. The program will also prepare the student to pass Microsoft Certification Examinations, thereby increasing their employment opportunities. This program is vender specific. Program Overview
As a Microsoft Certified Partner, Allegheny Valley Institute of Technology has courseware material that follows Microsoft’s latest examination objectives to help the student gain the knowledge they need. At the Allegheny Valley Institute of Technology, students receive quality training from certified professionals in state-of-the art classrooms. In addition, since the Allegheny Valley Institute of Technology is an Authorized Prometric Testing Center™ (APTC), students can take their examinations at this facility. The Allegheny Valley Institute of Technology uses Microsoft Press’s Courseware Kits that provide the student with Exam Assessment and Preparation software giving students the study tools they need to pass the test. Entrance Criteria A high school diploma or general equivalency diploma is required for admission to this Program. Applicants must also successfully pass the Wonderlic Basic Skills Test (WBST) with a minimum score of 280 in both the verbal and quantitative categories at the General Education Development (GED) Level 2 and successfully pass the Computing Technology Industry Association (Comp TIA) A+ “Core Hardware” examination, in order to be admitted into this program.
